Description
Human GUCA1A Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human GUCA1A Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Met1-Gly201, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 25.08 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Guanylyl cyclase-activating protein 1 is a ~22 kDa protein. Stimulates retinal guanylyl cyclase when free calcium ions concentration is low and inhibits guanylyl cyclase when free calcium ions concentration is elevated. For research use only.
This Ca(2+)-sensitive regulation of retinal guanylyl cyclase is a key event in recovery of the dark state of rod photoreceptors following light exposure. May be involved in cone photoreceptor light response and recovery of response in bright light.
