Human HMGN1 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Lys14-Asp100, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 11.64 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Non-histone chromosomal protein HMG-14 (HMGN1) is a ~10 kDa protein. Binds to the inner side of the nucleosomal DNA thus altering the interaction between the DNA and the histone octamer. May be involved in the process which maintains transcribable genes in a unique chromatin conformation. Inhibits the phosphorylation of nucleosomal histones H3 and H2A by RPS6KA5/MSK1 and RPS6KA3/RSK2.
