Description
Human HTR1A Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human HTR1A Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Ile218-Lys345, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 16.10 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. 5-hydroxytryptamine receptor 1A (HTR1A) is a ~46 kDa protein. G-protein coupled receptor for 5-hydroxytryptamine (serotonin). For research use only.
Also functions as a receptor for various drugs and psychoactive substances. Ligand binding causes a conformation change that triggers signaling via guanine nucleotide-binding proteins (G proteins) and modulates the activity of downstream effectors, such as adenylate cyclase. HTR1A is coupled to G(i)/G(o) G alpha proteins and mediates inhibitory neurotransmission: signaling inhibits adenylate cyclase activity and activates a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system that regulates the release of Ca(2+) ions from intracellular stores. Beta-arrestin family members regulate signaling by mediating both receptor desensitization and resensitization processes.
