Description

Human ITGa3 ELISA Kit (Small Sample Volume)

Human ITGa3 ELISA kits are used to detect Integrin Alpha 3 (ITGa3) in tissue homogenates and other biological samples. ITGa3, integrin alpha 3, also known as CD49c, pairs with integrin beta 1 to form the alpha-3/beta-1 heterodimer, a cell surface receptor for laminins, notably laminin-332 also called epiligrin, and for fibronectin, collagen and thrombospondin. It is abundant in epithelial cells, kidney podocytes and the basement membrane zone of the skin. The integrin provides a docking site for seprase at invadopodia, where it may take part in matrix degradation and cell invasion, and it also contributes to endothelial migration induced by CSPG4. Mutations cause a severe form of junctional epidermolysis bullosa with interstitial lung disease and nephrotic syndrome. Altered expression has been reported in several cancers, so it is studied in adhesion and tumour biology.
