Human KRT5 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Thr166-Leu474, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 38.6 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Keratin, type II cytoskeletal 5 (KRT5) is a ~62 kDa protein. Required for the formation of keratin intermediate filaments in the basal epidermis and maintenance of the skin barrier in response to mechanical stress. For research use only.
Regulates the recruitment of Langerhans cells to the epidermis, potentially by modulation of the abundance of macrophage chemotactic cytokines, macrophage inflammatory cytokines and CTNND1 localization in keratinocytes.
