Human LALBA Recombinant Protein (N-His)

Human LALBA Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Lys20-Lys141, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 15.16 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Alpha-lactalbumin (LALBA) is a ~16 kDa protein. Regulatory subunit of lactose synthase, changes the substrate specificity of galactosyltransferase in the mammary gland making glucose a good acceptor substrate for this enzyme. For research use only.

This enables LS to synthesize lactose, the major carbohydrate component of milk. In other tissues, galactosyltransferase transfers galactose onto the N-acetylglucosamine of the oligosaccharide chains in glycoproteins.
