Description
Human MAFF Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human MAFF Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Met1-Gly126, with an N-terminal His tag. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Transcription factor MafF is a ~17 kDa protein. Since they lack a putative transactivation domain, the small Mafs behave as transcriptional repressors when they dimerize among themselves. For research use only.
However, they seem to serve as transcriptional activators by dimerizing with other (usually larger) basic-zipper proteins, such as NFE2L1/NRF1, and recruiting them to specific DNA-binding sites. Interacts with the upstream promoter region of the oxytocin receptor gene. May be a transcriptional enhancer in the up-regulation of the oxytocin receptor gene at parturition.
