Human MANF Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Gly28-Leu182, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 20.09 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Mesencephalic astrocyte-derived neurotrophic factor (MANF) is a ~20 kDa protein. Selectively promotes the survival of dopaminergic neurons of the ventral mid-brain. For research use only.
Modulates GABAergic transmission to the dopaminergic neurons of the substantia nigra. Enhances spontaneous, as well as evoked, GABAergic inhibitory postsynaptic currents in dopaminergic neurons. Inhibits cell proliferation and endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress-induced cell death. Retained in the ER/sarcoplasmic reticulum (SR) through association with the endoplasmic reticulum chaperone protein HSPA5 under normal conditions.
