Description

Human MAPK13 ELISA Kit

Human MAPK13 ELISA kits are used to detect Mitogen Activated Protein Kinase 13 (MAPK13) in tissue homogenates and other biological samples. MAPK13, also called p38 delta or SAPK4, is a serine/threonine kinase and one of four p38 MAP kinases that transmit cellular responses to extracellular stimuli such as pro-inflammatory cytokines and physical stress. It activates transcription factors such as ELK1 and ATF2 and phosphorylates downstream kinases including MAPKAPK2, and it is one of the less studied p38 isoforms. MAPK13 inactivates EEF2K to regulate protein translation, phosphorylates MAPT and STMN1 in cytoskeletal remodelling, and phosphorylates MYB, leading to its degradation. It is important for keratinocyte differentiation, apoptosis and skin tumour development, and it down-regulates PRKD1 in the regulation of insulin secretion by pancreatic beta cells.
