Description
Human MAPK4 Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human MAPK4 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Met1-Ser313, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 37.75 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Mitogen-activated protein kinase 4 (MAPK4) is a ~65 kDa protein. Atypical MAPK protein. For research use only.
Phosphorylates microtubule-associated protein 2 (MAP2) and MAPKAPK5. The precise role of the complex formed with MAPKAPK5 is still unclear, but the complex follows a complex set of phosphorylation events: upon interaction with atypical MAPKAPK5, ERK4/MAPK4 is phosphorylated at Ser-186 and then mediates phosphorylation and activation of MAPKAPK5, which in turn phosphorylates ERK4/MAPK4. May promote entry in the cell cycle.
