Description
Human MAPK6 Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human MAPK6 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Met1-Met316, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 37.97 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in 50mM Tris, 150mM NaCl, pH 8.0, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Mitogen-activated protein kinase 6 (MAPK6) is a ~82 kDa protein. Atypical MAPK protein. For research use only.
Phosphorylates microtubule-associated protein 2 (MAP2) and MAPKAPK5. The precise role of the complex formed with MAPKAPK5 is still unclear, but the complex follows a complex set of phosphorylation events: upon interaction with atypical MAPKAPK5, ERK3/MAPK6 is phosphorylated at Ser-189 and then mediates phosphorylation and activation of MAPKAPK5, which in turn phosphorylates ERK3/MAPK6. May promote entry in the cell cycle.
