Description
Human MAX Recombinant Protein (N-GST)
Human MAX Recombinant Protein (N-GST) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Ser2-Ser160, with an N-terminal GST tag. Predicted molecular weight: 44.97 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Protein max is a ~18 kDa protein. Transcription regulator. For research use only.
Forms a sequence-specific DNA-binding protein complex with MYC or MAD which recognizes the core sequence 5'-CAC[GA]TG-3'. The MYC:MAX complex is a transcriptional activator, whereas the MAD:MAX complex is a repressor. May repress transcription via the recruitment of a chromatin remodeling complex containing H3 'Lys-9' histone methyltransferase activity. Represses MYC transcriptional activity from E-box elements.
