Description
Human MED6 Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human MED6 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Met1-His148, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 19.03 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Mediator of RNA polymerase II transcription subunit 6 (MED6) is a ~28 kDa protein. Component of the Mediator complex, a coactivator involved in the regulated transcription of nearly all RNA polymerase II-dependent genes. For research use only.
Mediator functions as a bridge to convey information from gene-specific regulatory proteins to the basal RNA polymerase II transcription machinery. Mediator is recruited to promoters by direct interactions with regulatory proteins and serves as a scaffold for the assembly of a functional preinitiation complex with RNA polymerase II and the general transcription factors.
