Human MRAS Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Met1-Gln204, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 25.58 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Core component of the SHOC2-MRAS-PP1c (SMP) holophosphatase complex that regulates the MAPK pathway activation. The formation of the SMP complex only occurs when MRAS is GTP-bound. MRAS has low intrinsic GTPase activity and may require additional factors for activation. The SMP complex specifically dephosphorylates the inhibitory phosphorylation at 'Ser-259' of RAF1 kinase, 'Ser-365' of BRAF kinase and 'Ser-214' of ARAF kinase, stimulating their kinase activities.
