Description

Human MVP ELISA Kit

Human MVP ELISA kits are used to detect Major Vault Protein (MVP) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological samples. MVP, the major vault protein, is the main structural component of the vault, a large barrel-shaped ribonucleoprotein particle found in the cytoplasm of most eukaryotic cells, which is built from multiple copies of MVP together with minor components such as PARP4 and vault RNAs. Vaults are thought to take part in nucleo-cytoplasmic transport and signal transduction, and MVP can down-regulate interferon-gamma-induced STAT1 signalling and suppress SRC and MAP kinase signalling. MVP is also known as lung resistance-related protein because its overexpression in tumour cells has been associated with multidrug resistance to chemotherapy. Raised levels have been reported in several cancers and associated with poor response to treatment, so MVP is studied in oncology and in innate immunity.
