Description
Human NEIL1 Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human NEIL1 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Ser43-Ala314, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 33.21 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Endonuclease 8-like 1 (NEIL1) is a ~43 kDa protein. Involved in base excision repair of DNA damaged by oxidation or by mutagenic agents. For research use only.
Acts as a DNA glycosylase that recognizes and removes damaged bases. Has a preference for oxidized pyrimidines, such as thymine glycol, formamidopyrimidine (Fapy) and 5-hydroxyuracil. Has marginal activity towards 8-oxoguanine. Has AP (apurinic/apyrimidinic) lyase activity and introduces nicks in the DNA strand.
