Description
Human PABPC1 Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human PABPC1 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Met10-Arg390, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 45.52 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Polyadenylate-binding protein 1 (PABPC1) is a ~70 kDa protein. Binds the poly(A) tail of mRNA, including that of its own transcript, and regulates processes of mRNA metabolism such as pre-mRNA splicing and mRNA stability. For research use only.
Its function in translational initiation regulation can either be enhanced by PAIP1 or repressed by PAIP2. Can probably bind to cytoplasmic RNA sequences other than poly(A) in vivo. Binds to N6-methyladenosine (m6A)-containing mRNAs and contributes to MYC stability by binding to m6A-containing MYC mRNAs. Involved in translationally coupled mRNA turnover.
