Human PAH / Phenylalanine Hydroxylase ELISA Kit

PAH (Phenylalanine Hydroxylase) is a Protein Coding gene. The PAH gene provides instructions for making an enzyme called phenylalanine hydroxylase. This enzyme is involved in the chemical process that converts the essential amino acid phenylalanine into tyrosine. Mutations in the PAH gene can cause a rare inherited disorder called phenylketonuria (PKU). People with PKU cannot properly break down phenylalanine, which leads to an accumulation of this amino acid in the blood and other tissues.
