Description
Human PAX6 Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human PAX6 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Met1-Arg272, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 32.8 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Paired box protein Pax-6 (PAX6) is a ~46 kDa protein. Transcription factor with important functions in the development of the eye, nose, central nervous system and pancreas. For research use only.
Required for the differentiation of pancreatic islet alpha cells. Competes with PAX4 in binding to a common element in the glucagon, insulin and somatostatin promoters. Regulates specification of the ventral neuron subtypes by establishing the correct progenitor domains. Acts as a transcriptional repressor of NFATC1-mediated gene expression.
