Description
Human PEX5 Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human PEX5 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning His306-Gln639, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 39.26 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Peroxisomal targeting signal 1 receptor (PEX5/PTS1) is a ~70 kDa protein. Receptor that mediates peroxisomal import of proteins containing a C-terminal PTS1-type tripeptide peroxisomal targeting signal (SKL-type). For research use only.
Binds to cargo proteins containing a PTS1 peroxisomal targeting signal in the cytosol, and translocates them into the peroxisome matrix by passing through the PEX13-PEX14 docking complex along with cargo proteins. PEX5 receptor is then retrotranslocated into the cytosol, leading to release of bound cargo in the peroxisome matrix, and reset for a subsequent peroxisome import cycle.
