Description
Human PIGR Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human PIGR Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Arg289-Arg638, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 40.68 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Polymeric immunoglobulin receptor (PIGR) is a ~83 kDa protein. Mediates selective transcytosis of polymeric IgA and IgM across mucosal epithelial cells. For research use only.
Binds polymeric IgA and IgM at the basolateral surface of epithelial cells. The complex is then transported across the cell to be secreted at the apical surface. During this process, a cleavage occurs that separates the extracellular (known as the secretory component) from the transmembrane segment.
