Human PRMT3 Recombinant Protein (N-His)

Human PRMT3 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Leu212-Gln531, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 38.38 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Protein arginine N-methyltransferase 3 (PRMT3) is a ~59 kDa protein. Protein-arginine N-methyltransferase that catalyzes both the monomethylation and asymmetric dimethylation of the guanidino nitrogens of arginine residues in target proteins, and therefore falls into the group of type I methyltransferases. For research use only.

Catalyzes the asymmetric arginine dimethylation at multiple sites in the Arg/Gly-rich region of small ribosomal subunit protein uS5/RPS2. Also appears to methylate other ribosomal proteins. May regulate retinoic acid synthesis and signaling by inhibiting ALDH1A1 retinal dehydrogenase activity. Contributes to methylation of histone H4 'Arg-3', a specific tag for epigenetic transcriptional activation.
