Description
Human PTGES2 Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human PTGES2 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Tyr145-Thr357, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 26.47 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Prostaglandin E synthase 2 (PTGES2) is a ~41 kDa protein. Isomerase that catalyzes the conversion of PGH2 into the more stable prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) (in vitro). For research use only.
The biological function and the GSH-dependent property of PTGES2 is still under debate. In vivo, PTGES2 could form a complex with GSH and heme and would not participate in PGE2 synthesis but would catalyze the degradation of prostaglandin E2 H2 (PGH2) to 12(S)-hydroxy-5(Z),8(E),10(E)-heptadecatrienoic acid (HHT) and malondialdehyde (MDA).
