Description
Human RDH12 Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human RDH12 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Thr33-Glu316, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 33.83 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Retinol dehydrogenase 12 is a ~35 kDa protein. Retinoids dehydrogenase/reductase with a clear preference for NADP. For research use only.
Displays high activity towards 9-cis, 11-cis and all-trans-retinal. Shows very weak activity towards 13-cis-retinol. Also exhibits activity, albeit with lower affinity than for retinaldehydes, towards lipid peroxidation products (C9 aldehydes) such as 4-hydroxynonenal and trans-2-nonenal. May play an important function in photoreceptor cells to detoxify 4-hydroxynonenal and potentially other toxic aldehyde products resulting from lipid peroxidation.
