Human RFX2 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Glu324-Lys685, with an N-terminal His tag. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. DNA-binding protein RFX2 is a ~79 kDa protein. Transcription factor that acts as a key regulator of spermatogenesis. For research use only.
Acts by regulating expression of genes required for the haploid phase during spermiogenesis, such as genes required for cilium assembly and function. Recognizes and binds the X-box, a regulatory motif with DNA sequence 5'-GTNRCC(0-3N)RGYAAC-3' present on promoters. Probably activates transcription of the testis-specific histone gene H1-6.
