Description

Human RSPO2 ELISA Kit

Human RSPO2 ELISA kits are used to detect R-Spondin 2 (RSPO2) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological samples. RSPO2 (R-spondin 2, or roof plate-specific spondin-2) is a secreted protein of the R-spondin family that amplifies canonical Wnt/beta-catenin signalling. It binds the stem cell markers LGR4, LGR5 and LGR6, which then associate with LRP6 and frizzled receptors, and it also inhibits the E3 ligases ZNRF3 and RNF43 that otherwise remove Wnt receptors from the cell surface. During development it is needed for limb, lung and other organ formation, and it supports the maintenance of stem cells in epithelia such as the intestine. Loss-of-function variants cause tetraamelia syndrome, a severe limb malformation disorder, while RSPO2 gene fusions and overexpression have been reported in some colorectal and other tumours.
