Description

Human SETD7 ELISA Kit

Human SETD7 ELISA kits are used to detect SET Domain Containing Protein 7 (SETD7) in tissue homogenates and other biological samples. SETD7, also known as SET7/9 or KMT7, is a lysine methyltransferase that specifically monomethylates lysine 4 of histone H3, a mark associated with epigenetic transcriptional activation. It helps activate genes such as collagenase and insulin, and it is recruited to the insulin promoter by the transcription factor IPF1/PDX-1. SETD7 also methylates many non-histone proteins, recognising a [KR]-[STA]-K motif, including p53, TAF10, CGAS and GLI3. Methylation of p53 at lysine 372 stabilises it and increases its transcriptional activity, methylation of TAF10 raises its affinity for RNA polymerase II, and methylation of GLI3 promotes smoothened signalling. These activities make SETD7 a research target in epigenetics, metabolism and cancer biology.
