Description
Human SMYD3 Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human SMYD3 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Met1-Ser428, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 51.26 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Histone-lysine N-methyltransferase SMYD3 is a ~49 kDa protein. Histone methyltransferase. For research use only.
Specifically methylates 'Lys-4' of histone H3, inducing di- and tri-methylation, but not monomethylation. Also methylates 'Lys-5' of histone H4. Plays an important role in transcriptional activation as a member of an RNA polymerase complex. Binds DNA containing 5'-CCCTCC-3' or 5'-GAGGGG-3' sequences.
