Description
Human SOCS3 Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human SOCS3 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Met1-Leu225, with an N-terminal His tag. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Suppressor of cytokine signaling 3 (SOCS3) is a ~24 kDa protein. SOCS family proteins form part of a classical negative feedback system that regulates cytokine signal transduction. For research use only.
SOCS3 is involved in negative regulation of cytokines that signal through the JAK/STAT pathway. Inhibits cytokine signal transduction by binding to tyrosine kinase receptors including IL6ST/gp130, LIF, erythropoietin, insulin, IL12, GCSF and leptin receptors. Binding to JAK2 inhibits its kinase activity and regulates IL6 signaling. Suppresses fetal liver erythropoiesis.
