Description

Human SYT7 ELISA Kit (Small Sample Volume)

Human SYT7 ELISA kits are used to detect Synaptotagmin VII (SYT7) in tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological samples. SYT7, or synaptotagmin VII, is a calcium sensor of the synaptotagmin family that regulates calcium-dependent exocytosis of secretory and synaptic vesicles. Its C2 domains bind calcium with high affinity but slow kinetics compared with other synaptotagmins, and calcium binding promotes interaction with phospholipid membranes and assembled SNARE complexes, which helps trigger membrane fusion. SYT7 is notable for its role in calcium-triggered lysosomal exocytosis, an important step in plasma membrane repair, and this delivery of lysosomal membrane to the cell surface also contributes to phagocytosis by macrophages. It is also involved in secretory pathways that influence bone remodelling, and it is studied in synaptic plasticity, hormone secretion and cell repair.
