Description
Human TFCP2 Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human TFCP2 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Gln68-Gln266, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 25.63 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Alpha-globin transcription factor CP2 (TFCP2) is a ~57 kDa protein. Binds a variety of cellular and viral promoters including fibrinogen, alpha-globin, SV40 and HIV-1 promoters. For research use only.
Activation of the alpha-globin promoter in erythroid cells is via synergistic interaction with UBP1. Functions as part of the SSP (stage selector protein) complex. Facilitates the interaction of the gamma-globin genes with enhancer elements contained in the locus control region in fetal erythroid cells. Interacts by binding to the stage selector element (SSE) in the proximal gamma-globin promoter.
