Description
Human TK1 Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human TK1 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Met1-Asn234, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 27.73 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Thymidine kinase, cytosolic (TK1) is a ~25 kDa protein. Cell-cycle-regulated enzyme of importance in nucleotide metabolism. For research use only.
Catalyzes the first enzymatic step in the salvage pathway converting thymidine into thymidine monophosphate. Transcriptional regulation limits expression to the S phase of the cell cycle and transient expression coincides with the oscillation in the intracellular dTTP concentration (Probable). Also important for the activation of anticancer and antiviral nucleoside analog prodrugs such as 1-b-d-arabinofuranosylcytosine (AraC) and 3c-azido-3c-deoxythymidine (AZT).
