Description

Human UNC5B ELISA Kit

Human UNC5B ELISA kits are used to detect Netrin Receptor UNC5B (UNC5B) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernatants, saliva and other biological samples. UNC5B is a transmembrane netrin receptor, also known as p53RDL1, that is required for axon guidance. When netrin binds, UNC5B mediates repulsion of neuronal growth cones in the developing nervous system, probably through its association with DCC. It also works as a netrin receptor that negatively regulates vascular branching during angiogenesis, causing retraction of tip cell filopodia on endothelial growth cones. UNC5B is a dependence receptor: in the absence of netrin it induces apoptosis by activating DAPK1, reducing its autoinhibitory phosphorylation and so raising its catalytic activity. Because it links survival signals to ligand availability, UNC5B is studied in neural development, vascular biology and cancer, where loss of expression may allow cells to escape death.
