The Malondialdehyde (MDA) Colorimetric Assay Kit (TBA) is a reliable and sensitive tool designed for the quantitative measurement of MDA content in serum, plasma, and animal tissue samples. MDA is a major end product of lipid peroxidation and serves as a widely used biomarker of oxidative stress, ferroptosis, and cellular damage. This kit utilizes the classical thiobarbituric acid (TBA) reaction, in which MDA reacts with TBA under acidic, high-temperature conditions to produce a red chromogenic compound with a maximum absorption peak at 532 nm, enabling accurate colorimetric quantification using a standard spectrophotometer.

The assay is optimized for use with a wide range of sample types, including human, rat, and mouse serum and plasma, as well as rat tissue homogenates (heart, liver, spleen, lung, kidney, and brain).
