Description

Mouse F1+2 ELISA Kit

Mouse F1+2 ELISA kits are used to detect Prothrombin Fragment 1+2 (F1+2) in serum, plasma and other biological samples. F1+2, prothrombin fragment 1+2, is the N-terminal portion of prothrombin that is released when factor Xa cleaves prothrombin to generate thrombin, in the presence of factor Va, calcium and phospholipid surfaces. It contains the gamma-carboxyglutamic acid domain and two kringle domains, and it has no known enzymatic activity of its own. Because it is released in equimolar amounts with thrombin, and is cleared more slowly than thrombin itself, its plasma concentration provides an index of thrombin generation in vivo. Levels may be elevated in venous thromboembolism, disseminated intravascular coagulation, acute coronary syndromes and surgery, and they decrease with anticoagulant treatment, so F1+2 is widely used as a marker of coagulation activation.
