Description

Mouse IgG2a ELISA Kit

Mouse IgG2a ELISA kits are used to detect Immunoglobulin G2a (IgG2a) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernatants and other biological samples. IgG2a is a subclass of immunoglobulin G, the principal antibody class of the secondary immune response, found in mouse and rat and encoded by a constant region gene of the heavy chain. Like other immunoglobulins, it is a glycoprotein produced by B lymphocytes and plasma cells, with two heavy and two light chains. When secreted, it blocks the interaction of antigens with cellular receptors through its antigen-binding region and mediates effector functions, such as complement activation, opsonisation and antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity, through its constant region. In mice, IgG2a is typically associated with Th1-type responses driven by interferon gamma, so levels of this subclass are often used to characterise the type of immune response to infection or vaccination.
