Description
Mouse Mbl1 Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Mouse Mbl1 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Gly126-Ala239, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 14.81 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Mannose-binding protein A (Mbl1) is a ~25 kDa protein. Calcium-dependent lectin. For research use only.
Plays a role in the innate immune response by binding mannose, fucose and N-acetylglucosamine moieties on different microorganisms and mediating activation of the lectin complement pathway. Binds to late apoptotic cells, as well as to apoptotic blebs and to necrotic cells, but not to early apoptotic cells, facilitating their uptake by macrophages.
