Description
Mouse PAFAH2 Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Mouse PAFAH2 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Met1-Leu390, with an N-terminal His tag. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Platelet-activating factor acetylhydrolase 2, cytoplasmic is a ~43 kDa protein. Catalyzes the hydrolyze of the acetyl group at the sn-2 position of platelet-activating factor (PAF) and its analogs, leading to their inactivation. For research use only.
Hydrolyzes propionyl and butyroyl moieties approximately half as effectively as PAF. Also catalyzes transacetylation of the acetyl group from platelet-activating factor (PAF) to lysoplasmalogen and to sphingosine, producing plasmalogen analogs of PAF and N-acetylsphingosine (C2-ceramide) respectively. Has a marked selectivity for phospholipids with short acyl chains at the sn-2 position.
