Description
Mouse SLC27A4 Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Mouse SLC27A4 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Arg43-Glu138, with an N-terminal His tag. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Long-chain fatty acid transport protein 4 is a ~72 kDa protein. Mediates the import of long-chain fatty acids (LCFA) into the cell by facilitating their transport across cell membranes. For research use only.
Appears to be the principal fatty acid transporter in small intestinal enterocytes. Also functions as an acyl-CoA ligase catalyzing the ATP-dependent formation of fatty acyl-CoA using LCFA and very-long-chain fatty acids (VLCFA) as substrates, which prevents fatty acid efflux from cells and might drive more fatty acid uptake. Plays a role in the formation of the epidermal barrier. Required for fat absorption in early embryogenesis.
