Description

Rat F7 ELISA Kit

Rat F7 ELISA kits are used to detect Coagulation Factor VII (F7) in plasma and other biological samples. Coagulation factor VII is a vitamin K-dependent serine protease synthesized in the liver and circulating in plasma, mostly as an inactive zymogen. Following vascular injury, it binds tissue factor and calcium and is converted to the active form, factor VIIa, by factor Xa, factor XIIa, factor IXa or thrombin. The factor VIIa and tissue factor complex starts the extrinsic pathway of coagulation by activating factor X and factor IX, which leads to thrombin generation and fibrin formation. Congenital factor VII deficiency is a bleeding disorder that ranges from mild mucosal bleeding to severe intracranial hemorrhage. Levels may also be reduced in liver disease and vitamin K deficiency, and raised levels have been associated with cardiovascular risk.
