The Rat HO1 (Heme Oxygenase 1) ELISA Kit is a cutting-edge assay designed for the precise quantification of Heme Oxygenase 1 levels in various rat biological samples. Heme Oxygenase 1 is a crucial enzyme involved in heme catabolism, playing a pivotal role in maintaining cellular homeostasis and modulating oxidative stress responses. By quantifying HO1 levels, researchers can gain valuable insights into the cellular stress response, antioxidant defense mechanisms, and the regulation of heme metabolism. HO1 is a key player in the antioxidant defense system, serving as a cytoprotective enzyme that degrades heme into carbon monoxide, biliverdin, and iron, with potent anti-inflammatory, anti-apoptotic, and cytoprotective functions. Its upregulation in response to various cellular stressors underscores its importance in mitigating oxidative damage and promoting cellular resilience in the face of environmental challenges. Accurate measurement of HO1 levels using the Rat HO1 ELISA Kit provides researchers with a comprehensive tool to study oxidative stress, redox signaling pathways, and the adaptive cellular response to various physiological and pathological conditions. With exceptional sensitivity and specificity, this kit offers reliable and reproducible results, making it an indispensable asset for unraveling the intricate roles of HO1 in cellular protection, redox homeostasis, and disease pathogenesis.

This ELISA kit uses the Sandwich-ELISA principle. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to the target protein. Standards or samples are added to the micro ELISA plate wells and bind to the immobilized antibody. A biotinylated detection antibody specific to the target protein is then added, followed by Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well, resulting in a color change. Only wells containing the target protein, detection antibody, and HRP conjugate will develop a blue color. The reaction is terminated by the addition of stop solution, resulting in a yellow color. The optical density (OD) is measured at 450 nm ± 2 nm. The OD value is directly proportional to the concentration of the target protein in the sample and is determined using a standard curve.
