Description

Rat HRH4 ELISA Kit (Small Sample Volume)

Rat HRH4 ELISA kits are used to detect Histamine Receptor H4 (HRH4) in tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological samples. HRH4, the histamine H4 receptor, is a G protein-coupled receptor expressed mainly on immune cells including mast cells, eosinophils, basophils, dendritic cells and neutrophils. It binds histamine and signals through Gi proteins to lower intracellular cAMP. Activation drives chemotaxis of immune cells towards sites of inflammation or injury and modulates the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as TNF, IL-6, CCL4 and interferon gamma. The receptor is also involved in the control of renal albumin reabsorption. Because of these roles, HRH4 is a target of interest in allergy, asthma, pruritus and chronic inflammatory conditions, and selective antagonists are used as research tools in these areas.
