Recombinant Bax Monoclonal Antibody

The Recombinant Bax Monoclonal Antibody is a recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody (clone C123219) against Bax. BAX, also named as BCL2L4, is a pro-apoptotic member of the Bcl-2 protein family, which plays a pivotal role in controlling cell life and death. Bax largely localizes to the cytoplasm of healthy cells, but accumulates on the outer mitochondrial membrane upon apoptosis induction. BAX can commit a cell to apoptosis by translocation from the cytosol to the mitochondria and permeabilization of the outer mitochondrial membrane, which leads to the release of cytochrome c from mitochondria. Produced by recombinant technology in Rabbit hosts and purified by affinity chromatography, this Rabbit IgG antibody is reactive against Human, Mouse and Rat samples.

This antibody is suitable for WB and IHC-P applications. It has been validated by WB analysis of C6, 3T3, Hela and IHC analysis of Human lung cancer. The target is localized to the Cytoplasm and Mitochondrion membrane. Cytoplasm. Colocalizes with 14-3-3 proteins in the cytoplasm. Under stress conditions, undergoes a conformation change that causes release from JNK-phosphorylated 14-3-3 proteins and translocation to the mitochondrion membrane.
