The Recombinant Galectin 3 Monoclonal Antibody is a recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody (clone C323345) against Galectin 3. Galectins are a family of animal lectins defined by shared characteristic amino-acid sequences and affinity for β-galactose-containing oligosac-charides. Galectin-3 contains one carbohydrate recognition domain (CRD) and a proline- and glycine-rich N-terminal domain through which is able to form oligomers. Galectin-3 is widely expressed in many normal tissues and a variety of tumors. Produced by recombinant technology in Rabbit hosts and purified by affinity chromatography, this Rabbit IgG antibody is reactive against Human samples.
This antibody is suitable for WB and IHC-P applications. It has been validated by WB analysis of Hela and IHC analysis of Human colon cancer. The target is localized to the Nucleus. Cytoplasmic in adenomas and carcinomas. May be secreted by a non-classical secretory pathway and associate with the cell surface.
