Human ATG5 Recombinant Protein

ATG5 is an E2 ubiquitin ligase that is involved in autophagy. Its expression occurs at the end of the apoptotic process, following on from caspase activity, and is highly expressed in apoptotic cells. It is generated by the action of ATG7, binds to and associates with ATG12 on the isolation membrane to form a cup-shaped isolation membrane and autophagosome. The conjugate complex detaches from the membrane soon before or after autophagosome formation is finished. ATG5 plays an important role in the apoptotic process, possibly within the modified cytoskeleton. Human ATG5 Recombinant Protein is a highly pure recombinant protein developed by Assay Genie for use in a range of applications.
