Human CD122/IL-2RB Recombinant Protein

Interleukin-2 receptor (IL-2R), also known as high affinity IL-2 receptor subunit beta, Interleukin 2 receptor beta subunit, and IL-2RB, is a protein that plays an important role in T cell-mediated immunity. 3 variants of CD122/IL-2RB are present in terms of their capacity to bind interleukin 2. The low affinity form is a monomer of the alpha subunit and does not participate in signal transduction. The alpha/beta subunit heterodimer forms the intermediate affinity form, whereas the alpha/beta/gamma subunit heterotrimer makes up the high affinity type. Both the intermediate and high affinity forms of CD122/IL-2RB are involved in receptor-mediated endocytosis and transduction of mitogenic signals from interleukin 2. The expression of CD122/IL-2RB was limited to the earliest B220+ cells (CD43+CD24-; prepro B cells; fraction A) that proliferate vigorously in the absence of any stromal cells, but not to IL-15. This receptor has a high affinity form that is expressed on activated T lymphocytes, activated B cells, and activated macrophages. CD122/IL-2RB plays a role in regulating normal lymphocyte development. Human CD122/IL-2RB Recombinant Protein is a highly pure recombinant protein developed by Assay Genie for use in a range of applications.
