Human UBE2M/UBC12 Recombinant Protein

UBE2M is a ubiquitin-conjugating E2 family member that performs the second step in the ubiquitination process. Ubiquitination has long been associated with protein breakdown; however, it is now thought to be involved in a wider range of cellular activities. The number of ubiquitin molecules attached, as well as their inter-connections, have a significant impact on the outcome of the ubiquitin-conjugation reaction. To tackle this complexity and to allow adequate ubiquitination in time and space, an elaborate conjugation machinery has been constructed. In a step-by-step fashion, ubiquitin is activated by an ubiquitin-activating enzyme (E1), which then transmits the ubiquitin to a set of ubiquitin-conjugating enzymes (E2s). Next; ubiquitin-loaded E2s are interacting with ubiquitin protein ligases (E3s) and ubiquitin is conjugated to substrates on recruitment by the E3. The three critical enzymes in this hierarchy are working in tandem, with two E1s and 35 E2s having been identified and hundreds of E3s discovered in people. Human UBE2M/UBC12 Recombinant Protein is a highly pure recombinant protein developed by Assay Genie for use in a range of applications.
