VSIV Glycoprotein Recombinant Protein (C-Strep) is a recombinant protein expressed in insect cells, spanning Lys17-Lys448(Gly383Glu), with a C-terminal Strep tag. Predicted molecular weight: 51.93 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. G protein is a ~57 kDa protein. Attaches the virus to host LDL receptors, inducing clathrin-dependent endocytosis of the virion. In the endosome, the acidic pH induces conformational changes in the glycoprotein trimer, which trigger fusion between virus and endosomal membrane.
