Description
Instant TAE buffer granules
1× TAE Instant Granules are pre-formulated granules that dissolve in water to make ready-to-use 1× TAE electrophoresis buffer. They remove concentrate handling and weighing, and provide reproducible buffering for routine DNA electrophoresis.
Each bag makes 1 L of TAE containing 40 mM Tris-acetate and 1 mM EDTA at pH 8.3 ± 0.1 (25°C). The granules dissolve rapidly with no weighing or pH adjustment. TAE is used for nucleic acid electrophoresis in agarose and polyacrylamide gels, both as running buffer and for gel preparation, across biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology and other research fields. For research use only.

Storage
Store at 15 ~ 25°C.
- Dissolve the granules
- Empty one bag into 800 ml ddH2O and dissolve all the granules.
- Adjust the volume
- Add ddH2O to a final volume of 1 L and dissolve fully before use.
Q1: How do I prepare 1× TAE from the granules?
- Dissolve one bag in 800 ml ddH2O, then make up to 1 L with ddH2O and dissolve fully before use.
Q2: What should I do if the buffer has precipitated?
- TAE can precipitate at low temperature. Warm it in a 37°C water bath until it has completely dissolved.
Q3: Some powder stuck in the bag. Will this affect my results?
- No. A small amount of clumped dry powder left in the bag does not affect experimental results.
Q4: What is the buffer composition?
- 40 mM Tris-acetate and 1 mM EDTA, pH 8.3 ± 0.1 at 25°C.
