The CTBP2 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB2257) is an essential tool for research involving CTBP2, a transcriptional corepressor that plays a key role in gene regulation and cellular processes. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human specimens and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. It specifically binds to the CTBP2 protein, allowing for accurate detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it an ideal choice for studies in molecular biology and cancer research.
CTBP2 is a crucial protein in the regulation of gene expression, playing a role in a wide range of biological processes including cell proliferation, apoptosis, and metabolism. Its involvement in these pathways make it a valuable target for research in fields such as cancer biology, developmental biology, and metabolic disorders. Elucidating the function of CTBP2 is essential for gaining insights into disease mechanisms and developing targeted therapies for various medical conditions.

This gene produces alternative transcripts encoding two distinct proteins. One protein is a transcriptional repressor, while the other isoform is a major component of specialized synapses known as synaptic ribbons. Both proteins contain a NAD+ binding domain similar to NAD+-dependent 2-hydroxyacid dehydrogenases. A portion of the 3' untranslated region was used to map this gene to chromosome 21q21.3; however, it was noted that similar loci elsewhere in the genome are likely. Blast analysis shows that this gene is present on chromosome 10. Several transcript variants encoding two different isoforms have been found for this gene.
